Cord - or corduroy, as it is known in English - is a fabric with velvety longitudinal ribs that has its roots in 18th century England and was originally manufactured mainly in Manchester. The name comes from the English word “cord” and reflects the special structure of this fabric: a dense, non-slip fabric that looks lively thanks to the characteristic grooves and immediately adds a touch of elegance and retro charm to any outfit.
